In June 2025, Olivia Reynolds, Kosmos Energy’s VP of Sustainability and ESG, addressed attendees at Wood Mackenzie’s Gas, LNG & The Future of Energy Conference in London. The event convened global energy leaders, investors, and executives to explore how the gas and LNG sectors are navigating the energy transition, balancing energy security with sustainability, and responding to shifting geopolitical and market dynamics.
Olivia emphasized how Kosmos’ climate-related targets are embedded in our business plan – ensuring long-term resilience in a changing landscape. She highlighted Ghana as a compelling example, where access to electricity has increased from around 50% in 2004 to nearly 90% in 2023. Over the same period, natural gas has displaced heavy fuel oil, reducing the carbon intensity of power generation by more than 30%.
This approach reflects our conviction that secure, affordable and cleaner energy will be essential for decades to come, and that the companies who align sustainability with commercial discipline will be best placed to lead.
