In October 2025, Andy Inglis, Chairman and CEO of Kosmos Energy, joined H.E. Ekperikpe Ekpo, Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Gas) of Nigeria; Andy Rapp, Senior Advisor to the U.S. Department of Energy; Jude Kearney, Managing Partner at ASAFO & CO. (U.S.) LLP; Hon. Mark W. Menezes, President & CEO of the United States Energy Association; NJ Ayuk, Executive Chairman of the African Energy Chamber; and Kola Karim, Group MD & CEO of Shoreline Energy, for a panel moderated by Mark Eramo, Co-President of S&P Global Commodity Insights, at Africa Energy Week in Cape Town.
The discussion explored how U.S.–Africa partnerships are evolving in a changing global energy landscape, highlighting the continued engagement of international companies and investors in Africa’s energy future. Panelists emphasized that stable policy frameworks, transparent regulation, and leadership commitment at the highest levels can attract capital, accelerate project delivery, and drive shared economic growth.
During the discussion, Andy Inglis, our CEO and Chairman, emphasized the importance of alignment between governments and industry to unlock Africa’s energy potential. Drawing on Kosmos Energy’s experience in Ghana—where collaboration with national leadership enabled the Jubilee field to move from license award to first oil in just seven years—he noted that clear national priorities, predictable regulation, and trust-based partnerships create the right conditions for investment. Countries that foster such environments, he added, will be best positioned to attract new capital and deliver sustained development for their people.
Kosmos Energy champions collaborative development models that align commercial success with national goals. The company’s focus on partnership, predictability, and shared value remains central to its mission of helping African countries realize their energy ambitions and drive sustainable economic growth.
