Christopher Ball
Senior Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer
Christopher (Chris) Ball leads Kosmos' business development activities and commercial operations. Mr. Ball joined Kosmos in July 2013 after serving as vice president, business development for the upstream unit of Mubadala, a $50 billion investment company based in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. Previously, he was senior vice president of Occidental Development Company and president and general manager of Occidental Middle East Development Company, where he was responsible for business development activities in the Caspian, the Middle East, and North Africa. During his tenure at Occidental, Mr. Ball led and facilitated numerous successful new business activities including the company’s acquisition of concessions in Angola, Nigeria, and Suriname. He also worked in the commercial and mergers & acquisitions arena at Texaco in Houston, London, and New York and in upstream asset development and management at Amoco in London. Over his 20 year career, he has managed numerous multi-disciplinary teams that have generated, developed, and closed a number of exploration and production opportunities globally. Mr. Ball earned a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering from Brunel University in London.
