Kosmos has a fundamental commitment to the health and safety of our employees and of those who work with us. We regularly train all employees in best practices for behavioral safety. All personnel and contractors have the right and responsibility to stop any unsafe work or remove themselves from any unsafe working conditions.
In 2016, we had a Lost-Time Injury Frequency (LTIF) of 0, or zero recordable incidents in 2,314,907 man hours. Our goal is to have an LTIF of less than one, or no injuries. It is the responsibility of all Kosmos employees and directly-retained contractors and consultants who have been either involved in or witness to an incident to immediately notify the appropriate line supervisor, manager, HSE Representative, or medic regardless of the severity of the incident.
Kosmos operates in several areas in which malaria is endemic. Through our Malaria Control Program, training and malaria response kits are given to employees and direct hire contractors who work or travel for work in a malaria-risk area. Kosmos recommends that contractors implement similar malaria controls for their personnel that meets or exceeds our program.
