West Cape Three Points Block

Appraisal and Delineation

Kosmos identified the West Cape Three Points Block offshore Ghana as a premier opportunity to prove its initial exploration concept, focused on the Late Cretaceous opportunity set. As operator of the West Cape Three Points Block, Kosmos executed a 3D seismic survey over a portion of the block in 2005 and unlocked the Tano Basin petroleum system with the world-class Jubilee oil field discovery in 2007. The success at Jubilee de-risked additional opportunities on the block, and Kosmos and partners have discovered a number of additional oil and gas-condensate discoveries on West Cape Three Points, including Mahogany, Teak, and Akasa (MTA).

Kosmos and its partners have submitted the Greater Jubilee Full Field Development Plan to the Ghanaian Ministry of Petroleum. Upon approval of the plan, the partnership will be able to start developing the Greater Jubilee area by connecting the Mahogany and Teak fields to the Jubilee FPSO.
