West Cape Three Points Block

Appraisal and Delineation

Kosmos identified the West Cape Three Points Block offshore Ghana as a premier opportunity to prove its initial exploration concept, focused on the Late Cretaceous opportunity set. As operator of the West Cape Three Points Block, Kosmos executed a 3D seismic survey over a portion of the block in 2005 and unlocked the Tano Basin petroleum system with the world-class Jubilee oil field discovery in 2007. The success at Jubilee de-risked additional opportunities on the block, and Kosmos and partners have discovered a number of additional oil and natural gas condensate discoveries on West Cape Three Points, including Mahogany, Teak, and Akasa.

With significant quantities of oil and natural gas-condensate discovered in the block, Kosmos is continuing to appraise these areas to define optimal development potential for the fields. Additional wells and potential seismic activity are planned to test the resource potential of these fields, which are anticipated to be developed through the Jubilee FPSO.
