Kosmos donated 22,000 books in June 2010 to schools in the Republic of Ghana’s Western Region as part of the company’s “Building Communities through Education” program. The first book presentation was made in the town of Half Assini to schools in the Jomoro District. More than 1,000 people attended the event at the Half Assini Senior
Secondary School, which included remarks by local officials and entertainment by two singing groups and traditional dancers.

The second book contribution was made in the town of Axim at the Nsein Secondary School. This event also was well attended by educators, students and parents and included comments by local dignitaries. The books will be used by schools in the Nzema East and Ellembelle districts of the Western Region.
