Prior exploratory activity on Block 4, including two wells drilled by other companies, proved a working petroleum system. Kosmos has an opportunity to build on this foundation and test a variety of play types on the block, which has a large lead and prospect inventory. Kosmos and its partners conducted a 1,400-km2 3D seismic survey over the most prospective areas in late 2005. After processing and interpreting the data, they drilled a commercially unsuccessful well in 2007. The partners continue to technically evaluate the block to identify additional plays and prospects.
